Update Regarding Group and Account Balance Corrections

Summary

Roblox addressed a backend bug that caused duplicate Robux payouts for transactions held between June 21 and June 24. The company has corrected account balances to reflect actual earnings, though the lack of transaction log entries for these deductions caused some confusion among creators.

What compensation do you expect, they fixed the issue and gave out the correct amounts

DevForum

I do not feel like you need compensation. If they did not introduce this bug then it would not of happened, and also think of anyone that used more than 1,000 Robux. They would have way more, Roblox would just be giving out free money.

It’s a common pattern with Roblox that they’re responsible for a bug or done some mistake that’s impacting users and only offer an apology. Maybe in this case there was no actual damage to revenue but their incompetence does annoy me. I remember when they released a Group API update that made many g

I feel I do need to be compensated for dumb actions that impact me as a developer. Whether it’s as minor as a visual glitch or them being responsible for my game being unplayable for a period of time. (Which already happened)

So what if you had a donation game, like the new ones where they are paid out through the group, and you had a bug telling people they are getting 2x what they actually are supposed to get. You would just give out free money? For “compensation”, or would you appologize and correct it.

what was the mistake here? you visually had more robux? how did this affect you

DevForum

Because then it feels like it was taken from you even though you were never supposed to have it to begin with. And Maybe I had plans to cash a certain amount and made plans based on that? I’m not saying this is highly impactful I’m just pointing out a pattern here

As a game developer I’d probably give compensation with a code yes.

DevForum

See, that’s different. You would not just give out free money. And Roblox is a big company, so what are they supposed to give you as compensation.

DevForum

I said compensation. I didn’t say free money specifically.

DevForum

So then what compensation are you looking for?

DevForum

No idea, it should be up for them to decide, but there should be compensation for dumb mistakes that impact us relative to what they’ve done. If they caused downtime then in that case yes I would expect to be compensated with robux for the damages. Since this is not the case, couldn’t tell you

This is a tiny bug and nobody lost anything. They do compensate if the issue was large enough. A few years back they literally dished out millions for “free” because their servers were down for so long: Outage Update: Our Commitment to You News & Alerts We take seriously our commitment to have a

You guys took a considerable amount of robux out of my group funds for this with no warning. I’d also really love some clarity regarding the new creator hub transactions page ( Creator Dashboard ) about what constitutes the difference between pending and paid immediately transactions. What’s the dif

You’re right, BUT! Remember that thing about 2D clothes? Tons of re-uploaded shirts & pants that was just a spam for marketplace. Sometimes, people that re-upload get more attention than original ones. What did that platform do about it for the whole years? They took 40% of the earnings for thei

I know that it’s not really related to the original topic, but when we talk about the “large issues that affect creators” I can’t be silent since the new percent system is up and wasn’t reverted.
