Reducing Server Shutdowns With User-Level Actions

Summary

Roblox is implementing user-level moderation actions to target specific policy-violating players instead of shutting down entire server instances. This update utilizes AI-driven multimodal moderation to improve game stability and has already led to a 15% decrease in shutdowns for some titles.

I guess it is good to see user-level action is becoming a thing. This feature is still annoying to deal with, such as the fact that data loss can happen for server shutdowns due to intentionally not invoking BindToClose . For APIs, will this potentially include the ability to correlate game geometry

This update comes too late. My roleplay group was permanently locked, resulting in the loss of over 1 million Robux invested over the years. I wish these user-level moderation actions had existed sooner instead of shutting down entire communities. Many of my roleplay games were affected by server sh

Scarlett: does that mean roblox can kick players who fly in Natural Disaster Survival No because they cannot magically determine if this was a developer-designed action or an actual exploit. If they could somehow do this to begin with the player would have just been platform banned. NDS needs to imp

I think you should have the same type of moderation for the text-chat as you do with voice-chat, quickly muting or even banning people for a specified amount of time if they’re in violation of the rules. It would really help get rid of toxic players.

Interestingly enough, the guy who made the game, Luke Weber, AKA “Stickmasterluke,” is a ROBLOX employee.

They already do, it’s just that you’re more likely to hit the censor before you hit the soft-warn.

Are there any plans to allow creators to scan content on demand? For example in a game about building and sharing houses, could I call an API on the house that the player built to make sure it is appropriate before allowing other users to see it?

I’d assume it checks periodically/when something is changed

A warning, then a 5-minute mute, and then an actual account ban for 1 day, or more, depending on the severity of your lack of self-control.

I think you are right, but I mean it would be good for creators to be able to trigger a scan and see the result of it, so that when a user hits the “Share” button we can immediately reject it if it is inappropriate.

Because the anti-cheat team is creating something that operates at a layer developers cannot access which does a best effort at preventing an exploit from even being injected into the client and they aren’t trying to m

Kay, so, we cant have games where multiple people can be in the same bedroom anymore. I understand bathrooms, but it still messes with games like Ink Game. Bedrooms is a bit far. I may be too young to understand how a bed and a desk can let people do weird stuff, nut it doesnt seem like it would mak

@ Roblox fix this insane oversight already, deleting an entire server’s worth of data between autosaves is not acceptable. There is already delay on detecting bad behavior.

There is absolutely no info here that gives me assurance that this system cannot be abused by bad actors. e.g. they build dicks and then drag them into the middle of an active roleplay to get everyone kicked by association. Enough with this broad stroke brainless AI moderation, give us the tools to
